Wood

ISPM15 is the new International Standards for Phytosanitary measures which come into effect on the 1st March 2005 in South Africa.  The standards cover the export of solid wood packaging eg. pallets, crates, dunnage and all other types of wood packaging.  South Africa now requires  all wood leaving our country to be either heat treated or fumigated by a registered company.  All registered companies have a certificate and a unique registration number which is supplied by the Agriculture Department.

Scientific is very proud to announce that we have obtained the unique registration number from the department of Agriculture for the treatment of wood using, methyl bromide.

Scientific Pest Control offers our customers 2 options for fumigation of wood for export.

  1. Our highly qualified team of fumigators can carry out the fumigation on your site, once an evaluation has been carried out to determine if the proposed fumigation site meets the safety standards.
  2. Scientific also offers the services of part container load fumigation at our premises.  Our 8 fumigation chambers range from small to 6m containers.  Should you wish to use our fumigation service please contact us at fumigation@spcs.co.za
